A Waffle Ya'll
I know I have said this before and many of you who know me personally know my true desire and passion in life is interior design as you can probably tell from some of my other posts. But! In this post I want to share with you one of my hobbies that I find fun and exciting -- Brunching! Is that a term? I'm making it one if not :)
Here's the thing about me, I love brunch! I will always love brunch with so much of my heart. It's a part of me - FOREVER lol! So let's get down to it. I wanted to share this post because brunching is one of my favorite things ever! And yes, I know what you are thinking -- How can brunch be such a big deal? Well, I am here to tell you its a very serious matter ;). Seriously though, who doesn't love a good brunch. In this post I will share a few fun brunch ideas that could maybe inspire you to do a brunch of your own.
A couple weekends ago I hosted a perfect, sweet and simple brunch with a few besties. I had the best idea to do a waffle bar, so you know me, I went all in with it. The whole nine yards; with homemade batter, fresh fruit, homemade whipped cream and so many more goodies. I got a few of my ideas from Pinterest, as always but, I like to stay original and keep things fresh.
I started the night before prepping for this brunch happily doing so. When I do something I really go all in with it. I pre made the waffle batter the night before. It was straight from The Joy of Cooking cookbook and I even improvised and made my own buttermilk! I really enjoy baking for so many reasons. One of them being that I am a big rule follower and what better way to do so than to follow a recipe.
- I made my own whipped cream with some vanilla, powered sugar and a bit of heavy cream. It was excellent!
A few goodies I did for this brunch
- Like I said before, I got the recipe for my buttermilk waffles in the Joy of Cooking cookbook. I didn't have buttermilk so I improvised and made my own. Every one cup of milk use one teaspoon of vinegar.- I made my own whipped cream with some vanilla, powered sugar and a bit of heavy cream. It was excellent!
- I made a drink bar just about any breakfast drink you can think of. Because, who can brunch without a mimosa.
It was honestly the perfect way to spend a Saturday. We ate such yummy food, talked until out hearts were content, all with a mimosa in hand. A few of us are married, all of us ladies work and have so many other activities in our life that we don't get days like this that often, so when we get afternoons of chatting and fellowshipping with each other we really take full advantage of it. It was a lovely brunch to say the least.
Tip of the day:
I would encourage you all to find some time to take for yourselves and do some things that you love most. I was lucky enough to get to do this.
